Sharon’s teaching springs from great gratitude and joy.  She began studying yoga at age 14 and has continued to practice asana and pranayama throughout her life. She loves the ecstatic feel of breath sculpting the body, and the connection yoga gives us to the pulse and beauty of nature, the way our spirit responds to and is revealed by the practice.  Her primary yoga teacher over the last 15 years has been Ana Forrest, although she has studied with, and been influenced by, Rodney Yee, John Friend, Judith Lasater and Sara Powers.  Forrest Yoga is a strong, modern style that challenges students physically and mentally through attention to breath, abdominal work and asana while remaining present.  Classes become a healing journey where students can discover their emotions, transform their experiences into wisdom, and embody their spirits.  Sharon offers clear instruction, demonstrations and hands-on assists to help students progress safely.  Whether we are practicing Forrest Yoga, Restorative Yoga, or Pranayama, enjoy the transformational aspects of yoga through deep connection to breath, beauty and spirit!     Sharon Dawson has over 20 years of teaching experience.  She is a Level 2 Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher, and has completed FY Foundation Training, Mentorship, Advanced Trainings, and now assists Ana with her trainings and workshops.  Sharon studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater and Rodney Yee and has been teaching restorative classes and workshops for 18 years.  She recently received her Pre/Post-Natal Yoga Certification from Jane Austin. Today, Sharon teaches a full schedule of classes to include Forrest, Restorative, Prenatal, Corporate, Private, and working with marginalized teen girls through the Art of Yoga Project.  She has led teacher trainings, workshops and retreats around the world.  Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 2000).
