Lori Edwards

British Columbia, Canada
With years of experience and education in Child and Youth Care, Family Services and Mental Health and Addictions, the depth of my lived experience is the most valuable expertise I bring to clients, students, health care professionals and the yoga community. An expertise that is beyond information, it is wisdom that comes from the integration of experience and knowledge.
As a trauma survivor, I know the benefits of Trauma Sensitive Yoga from the inside out. My dedication to sharing this practice deepens more and more as I work with other trauma survivors, people living with chronic pain, traumatic injury, grief and loss, addiction and recovery.
Years of committed study and practice have taken me from studio teaching to presenting with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, from working with First Nations communities to front line work with vulnerable populations.
This is tender work and I have the greatest respect for the people I have the privilege to share this practice with.
In addition to my private practice with EmpowerYoga, and my work in Mental Health and Addictions, I am pursuing a Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on bringing Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) to Post Secondary Health Care education. Underlying is the need for change in how trauma survivors are responded to and supported as they navigate our health care, judicial, and social services systems.
It is my honour to be part of the Sedona Yoga Festival! I look forward to connecting with you :)
