Shakti Naam, Aromatherapy, + Live Music with TCG
Shakti Naam is a new form of yoga in the West, which has evolved to help with todays stresses and fast-paced, yet sedentary lifestyles. The teachings and techniques are not new, but rather taken from far back traditions of Sukshma Vyayama known as the yoga of immortality. It is a powerful yogic science that allows the body to heal itself, and therefore express its fullest potential. The practice of Shakti Naam looks and feels different than other forms of yoga , as it combines breath work, mudras, sound, asanas, mantra and mediation. It provides an almost immediate experience of new energies. New students usually feel this shift within the first five minutes of class. As we age, the life force within begins to deteriorate leaving us vulnerable to psychological and physical ailments. Shakti Naam causes the life force to flow through the body-removing blockages, cleaning and clearing. It promotes rejuvenation and clarity of mind and body. You become a radiant, magnetic being as it allows you to merge with and become the life force in action......want to try it? Raise your voltage and tune into your Shakti vibration with this transformational experience. Naam is the frequency that connects us as One. Get ready to chant, breathe, dance, and shift into your highest potential. With the guidance of the plants and the trees, this experience will send you to a mystical and majestic portal of the heart. Open and expand your entire Being with Shakti Naam Yoga set to the live rhythms of "The Conscious Groove", and anointed with the very powerful Wisdom of the Earth medicine. All Levels Are Welcome!

Gentle/Restorative Yoga with Yoga Nidra
In this spiritually oriented yoga practice we find our center. Through gentle mindful breath and movement, followed by restorative yoga, we allow the body-mind to relax and release. Class closes with a 25 minute Yoga Nidra (guided supine meditation experience); a potent and ancient practice for directing our senses inward. Our essence is peace and ease…and through the passive opening of the body, and focused attention, we can experience this truth. Open to any level of student, this practice attends to the balancing of the Central Nervous System, aiming at homeostasis, where healing can happen. Our lives are often full of stimulation, chaotic noise, and long to-do lists, leading to whirlwinds of thoughts and concerns. In this mindfulness based practice we begin to re-train the brain to slow down, regain focus on the task at hand, and return to Presence. The gift of Being in the Now offers a release from anxiety, worry and stress…and this is where true Yoga exists.

Mantras, Mudras, Malas
Limited Capacity seats available

A saying from the Vedas claims that "Speech is the essence of humanity." All of what humanity thinks and ultimately becomes is determined by the expression of ideas and actions through speech and writing. Ideas remain un-actualized until they are created through the power of speech. MANTRA are words or phrases repeated over and over again to bring about the vibration and/or resonance of action. Bascially, our thoughts become words, our words create vibration, that vibration creates our life. The simple, beautiful hand expressions called MUDRAS, play a vital but subtle role in the yoga tradition. There are hundreds of mudras, each meant to express or bring forth a quality state of mind such as fearlessness, strength or grounded-ness. They are believed to have a therapeutic effect, helping to restore and heal imbalances, eliminating excess tension, strengthening weak immunity and addressing aches and pains. What is a MALA? Malas are beautiful, they are the “yoga-bling” that yogis gravitate toward to “be a yogi”. The term mala is derived from the Sanskrit word “Japamala,” which is a string of beads used for prayer and meditation by Hindus and Buddhists (similar to the concept of a Rosary in the Catholic faith). The string is made up of 108 individual beads, which are used to keep count while chanting or repeating a mantra while meditating. The number 108 has spiritual significance and is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. The number 1 stands for God, the Universe, the Divine, or your Ultimate Truth; 0 stands for emptiness and humility in your spiritual practice; and 8 stands for infinity and timelessness. 1+8 = 9 which is an extremely auspicious number in numerology. The beginning and the end… rebirth. In this workshop we will explore simple MUDRAS for healing, MANTRA for prayer and connection, and MALAS and how they can support your practice. All levels of yogis welcome, enrollment includes a set of mala beads. Workshop includes a 90 minute Vinyasa practice, pranayama, meditation, mantra and lecture. Includes 60-120 minutes asana practice, followed by lecture.

Elevation: A Sound Experience
This sound experience with Davin Youngs will be a unique meditative immersion in healing sounds with the intention of elevating our collective vibration. Blending ancient and contemporary tools, Davin uses his voice, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks and other overtone-emitting instruments to transport participants to a place of deep rest, growth and elevation. What makes this journey truly special is the subtle integration of electronic beats and emergence of music that reflects the wonder and beauty of the universe and the unique light within. To participate is only to receive. Davin guides the sound and vibration to do the work of the Cosmos. You will walk away from this subtle, yet powerful event feeling therapeutic, spiritual and restorative change. What happens during a Sound Experience? Typically a Sound Experience begins with participants lying down or finding a comfortable seated position, sometimes with a mat, blanket and eye mask. After a short guided meditation, sounds are slowly introduced and layered in succession, creating an ever-changing sonic landscape. Participants often find themselves move into a deep state of relaxation, self-exploration and discovery, stimulating alpha and theta brain waves. Like a Sound Bath or Sound Journey, this is an opportunity for extended rest (Savasana) while intentionally using the ancient medicine of sound to guide meditation and invite deep restoration and change. Why sound? Sound has been used for thousands of years as an aid in healing. Sound Experiences, journeys and baths create a container for participants to encourage personal vibrational change in the subtle and physical bodies. As the physical body is 60 percent water, humans are vibratory beings and incredible transmitters for sound. In these experiences participants utilize vibration and a process called entrainment to transform their emotional and physical landscape. The experience of entraining, or ’syncing up’ to healing instruments can slow heart rates and respiratory rates, leading participants into a restful and peaceful state, conducive for healing. Participants leaving with a deep sense of calm and rest.

Anahata Chakra Yoga: The Union of Shiva & Shakti
Limited Capacity seats available

Take a journey in this kundalini yoga class using yantra (symbolism), mantra (sound) and asana (posture) to explore the world through the lens of the Heart center. In classical kundalini, the chakras represents an initiation or doorway into a state of consciousness that progresses from root to the crown. The combination of asana, mantra and yantra in a practice amplifies and accelerates the activation of Shakti in the Anahata illuminating what we have stored and offering a way to transform old patterns. As the 4th chakra, it is the bridge between the material and the spiritual worlds. Our evolution as individuals and collectively depends upon us understanding the partnership between two realms where balance, harmony and longevity exist naturally. It is the most useful and constructive solution to the polarity and divisiveness that permeates all of our relations currently.

Japa Yoga - Path of Upliftment and Freedom
Limited Capacity seats available

The human psyche craves harmony and abhors disharmony or discord. This fundamental truth of each of us determines the course of our life, and we take on an expansive and happy life only when we find the state which is always harmonious. This highest state is called Yoga, union with the absolute Self (which when known within is also known without).

If we look at this craving and aversion around harmony and discord we see that it enters every aspect of life, and when we dive deeply within we see that it is vibrational - it is both the nature of sound and the nature of our thoughts. The entire science of Yoga is rooted in the understanding that the great Yogis, sages and seers have shared about the nature of these vibrations, and how to use them in order to uplift our life, from the depths of materialism to the heights of absolute Consciousness - Satchidananda - Existence, Wisdom and Bliss Absolute. Each aspect of this inner science of awakening fits together to uplift the vibrations that we call thought, and thus also our speech and our action.

Mantra Yoga, or Japa Yoga, is one of the most pure and direct methods of upliftment within given us. The simple act of chanting takes us out of our worries and cares, helping us to be present in the moment, with more joy, resilience and resource in our lives. Moments or ecstasy are typically experienced in chanting Japa and Kirtan, and the mind itself is re-wired, centering us more and more within the great peace. Kirtan has become very popular in the west, not so yet Japa (repetition of Mantra). In this workshop we will both explore the theory behind Mantra chanting as well as techniques, while we join together to chant various sacred Japa Mantras.

Mystic Medicine Circle
The Universal Laws of Nature do not derive from any religion, but instead contain a road map through sacred geometry that reveals our Divine interconnectedness. One of the oldest systems of mystical thought, these teachings are deeply rooted in Ancient Egyptian esoteric wisdom and are based on receiving Truths that help to elevate consciousness in order to become less reactive and more heart centered in unconditional love. It is not enough to do physical yoga because yoga alone cannot open the heart. Learning esoteric wisdom can help assist in the evolution of future life times, strengthens the aura, aligns the being with the Laws of Nature, and help to change mental thought patterns in order to create new habits and move from fate consciousness into one's destiny. Negative seeds are sown in the mental or Divine Realm, pass through the emotional or Astral World, and manifest ease or dis-ease in the action or Physical Plane of existence. A balance of a physical practice and deep understanding of the Laws of Nature help to liberate the soul from the body of pain and move gracefully into the body of Light. In this 2-hour workshop, we will learn about the Law of the Triangle and the 7 Creative Planets. Learn the Primary Planet that reveals the elements and energies we chose to be born with in order to understand who we are and what we chose to express in this lifetime. Connect with the plants and trees that support your Primary Planet as well as the 7 days of the week. Get anointed by 7 plant and tree teachers, enjoy a powerful vibrational healing bath, and chant Naam meditation to seal the forces of wisdom and healing into the entire being.

Astrology of Karma, Chakras and Healing
Limited Capacity seats available

Prior to each lifetime, your soul has set particular learning goals toward evolutionary growth and consciousness and has designed an experiential strategy for achieving them. Evolutionary astrology draws on ancient and modern tools of wisdom for intuitively revealing your soul's plan to your ego’s awareness. Once so informed, astrology can become another resource for the yoga of mindfulness, bringing your awareness back again and again to clarity, healing and fulfillment of karmic purpose. In this workshop, Barry will introduce the language and concepts of western astrology within an eastern, paradigm of soul evolvement, reflecting the elegance and loving grace of our divine reality. Using birth charts from clients and workshop participants, he will illustrate many ways that astrology can give keen insights into how the soul designs our personality and life dynamics, including the karmic gifts and imbalances we bring from the past, in order to attract and engage with the experiences from which we are here to learn and evolve.  As a practicing energy healer and life transformation coach, Barry will share the profound connections between the planets, human evolution, the chakras, personal healing, and the achievement of polarity balance (wholeness, enlightenment, etc).  “Know thyself” is an ancient admonition of spiritual wisdom. Astrology can be one of our best tools and practices for this. With just a basic understanding of astrology and an initial immersion into your own birth chart, it can empower your own ability to intuitively and objectively monitor the progress of your ego’s abilities to be in service to your soul.

Elemental Lu Jong: A View of The World
Limited Capacity seats available

Lu Jong recognizes that we have an unassailable connection with the natural environment. Being in tune with natural rhythms has a profoundly positive effect upon our wellbeing. The elemental building blocks of Space, Earth, Wind, Fire & Water comprise all natural phenomena including our bodies, minds and energies in addition to the earth, oceans and outer space. When the Five Elements within are in disharmony, the outward manifestation is discomfort, negative emotions and disease. The Five Elements Movements balance emotional energies, activate the flow of internal vitality, and harmonize bio-energetic substances (hormones). We will explore each of the Five Elements as relates to Inner, Outer, and Secret levels and learn a specific movement to recalibrate its energy and effects upon the body and mind. Students will also be introduced to the foundations of this Lu Jong Practice: Tantrayana Buddhism, Bon and Tibetan Medicine.

QiGong Recharge
Qigong movements help improve and maintain health by recharging your Qi/Vitality/Prana/Ki/life force. Qigong recharge by encouraging circulation of lymphatic, cardio, and all fluids/energies in the body. A healthy river is one that moves. Some 70% of a human body is water. If the fluids are not moving properly, the body becomes stagnant. Qigong can help you: • Release stress by reaching Wuji or balance. • Improve circulation of the cardio and lymphatic system. • Breathe the right way and move the right way. • Activate your core energies. • Cultivate your own Qi with this practice (increase energy). • Be sensitive to your own Qi after practice vs. prolonged practice. • Strengthen digestive functions – ease constipation. • Reduce waistline. • Sleep well. • Prolong your life with quality living. • Strengthen your bones, joints, and tendons. • Reduce risk of accidental falls with better balance.

Nityda has a unique way of creating a sacred space that feels safe for doing deep healing work within the asana practice. The Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method℠ integrates yin yoga and gentle vinyasa flow with somatic psychotherapy techniques, always from a heart-centered & trauma-aware space. In this practice Nityda will create such a safe, sacred space to empower you to approach your chid within from a gentle and compassionate embodiment. This practice is critical in fostering self-compassion and moving through and past samskaras (faulty self-reflective beliefs and patterns that keep us stuck). This practice is intended to enable you to discharge from the body, mind and spirit, traumas that have remained trapped within. This practice will inspire new insights and evoke shifts in consciousness that support your healing and personal evolution, and connection to your highest Self. The asana portion of this practice is appropriate for all levels, including absolute beginners. We will integrate gentle vinyasa flow with longer yin-style holds and restorative postures with the use of supportive props. Nityda will guide you through internal dialogues and contemplative practices within the asana that are inspired by her training in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems and EMDR therapy. This practice includes pranayama and meditation. Nityda is conscious of the common triggers for trauma survivors and so she always provides disclaimers and offers variations and differing options for those who may be triggered by breathwork and/or closing their eyes. Introduction to the Timeless Wisdom of Bhagavad Gita
Limited Capacity seats available

Bhagavad Gita, or "Song of God", consists of just 701 couplets, and the effect of these teachings, when contemplated and practiced, have the effect of both uplifting life and freeing us from suffering.

It seems that we have so many problems in our day to day life, and yet the seers and great Yogis tell us that really we have but one - that we have forgotten who we are. We live out of alignment with Peace and Joy. It is not that they do not exist, they are within each of us, but we have covered them up and forgotten our essential nature.

It is further said that regular study and contemplation of the Gita set us on the path of Freedom, of remembering, and of re-integrating; of attaining to Yoga (union with our own highest Self). If you have had a little or no exposure to the Gita and have an interest in learning more about the practice and philosophy of Yoga this will be a great workshop for you.

Happy Hips!
Limited Capacity seats available

Join us in an invigorating and intensive hip opening session and experience precise and fluid movements that can remove tension on a physical, emotional, and energetic level. You will be guided to approach the opening of the hips in a fun and patient way, allowing the body time to respond. When the hips are open and loose, the rest of your body will feel more supported and at ease. Learn techniques to gently stretch and open the hips. Increase flexibility, explore different rotations of the hips and safe, effective ways to open them, relieving stress on lumbar, sacroiliac, and knee joints, plus you’ll clear, awaken and balance the two base chakras. The hip area is a complex cluster of powerful muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and we can begin to loose the rotation, flexion, and extension they need to remain agile. Life today requires that we sit too much — sports, such as running and cycling (even walking) demand hip strength but not flexibility, and everyday stress creates tension in your hip area. You will be guided to approach the opening of the hips in a patient way, allowing the body time to respond. When the hips are open and loose, the rest of your body will feel more supported and at ease. Unstick your hips and get them gliding freely again!

Lu Jong Tibetan Yoga: The Five Body Parts Movements
When we release the energetic blocks in our channels and chakras our energy, or LUNG as is called in Tibetan, is better able to circulate and operate at optimum levels. The beauty of Lu Jong Tibetan yoga is its accessibility and effectiveness for bringing all levels of students into balance and ultimately empowering them to achieve greater health and happiness with sequences they can continue to do on their own. We open the class with the Five Elements Movements to restore the balance of elemental energies in our bodies and then delve into a series of movements developed specifically to address the musculoskeletal system. Gentle movements combined with the breath address different parts of our spine as we work from the head down through the lower extremities.

Unlocking Vishuddha Through Sound and Song
Limited Capacity seats available

Vissudha or the throat chakra is our channel for communication, self expression and creative identity. It is our best tool for expressing emotion, feeling, need and self identity. It is the channel through which we best connect to the vibrational pull of the universe and dance in it’s rhythm. It’s power is paramount for personal change and growth. Any sort of block in the fifth chakra can cause stifling feelings of being misunderstood, unheard and lonely, leaving a sense of disconnectedness from ourselves and each other. So what strategies do we have to keep this channel open? How do we find the key to unlock our most free and authentic voice? How do we best communicate our needs and desires? How can we be heard? This workshop will guide you on a journey of self discovery, utilizing the power of change facilitated by the fifth chakra. With specific attention to singing, sound and spontaneous chant, you will learn how to use breath and bodywork to find more freedom in the sound of your voice as well as unravel muscular tension within the throat that inhibits sound. Seed sounds and toning will be used and collectively we will create spontaneous songs with the intention of allowing more freedom into our lives. Each participant will walk away with a profound understanding of what it is to be heard and a new song in their heart.
