In this spiritually oriented yoga practice we find our center. Through gentle mindful breath and movement, followed by restorative yoga, we allow the body-mind to relax and release. Class closes with a 25 minute Yoga Nidra (guided supine meditation experience); a potent and ancient practice for directing our senses inward. Our essence is peace and ease…and through the passive opening of the body, and focused attention, we can experience this truth. Open to any level of student, this practice attends to the balancing of the Central Nervous System, aiming at homeostasis, where healing can happen. Our lives are often full of stimulation, chaotic noise, and long to-do lists, leading to whirlwinds of thoughts and concerns. In this mindfulness based practice we begin to re-train the brain to slow down, regain focus on the task at hand, and return to Presence. The gift of Being in the Now offers a release from anxiety, worry and stress…and this is where true Yoga exists.
