Talk with Cheryl about her workshop entitled : WHY CHOOSE YOGA TO TREAT CHRONIC PAIN? Here is a short description: Many students and teachers enter the practice of Yoga seeking relief from some form of chronic pain. Discover what the scientific community is learning about why suffering human beings through the ages may find what they are seeking when they practice this ancient art. Experience fun and practical ways to weave knowledge and wisdom into a loving daily practice.

HERE IS MY BIO: “C-IAYT” designates certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapy as a yoga therapist. Cheryl completed her Yoga Therapist education in 2010 and serves as a faculty member with the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy; a program that educates yoga teachers to become yoga therapists. She completed an Integrative Health and Lifestyle program with the University of Arizona in 2014 and was attuned as an Usui Reiki master in 2016. Cheryl received her YTT 200 in 2008 under the direction of Yogi Cain Carroll and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a E-RYT500 and YACEP.  Cheryl received her BS in Physical Therapy in 1983 and her MA in Physical Education through Northern Arizona University in 1991.
Cheryl is a member of  the International Association of Yoga Therapists, The American Physical Therapy Association and the International Association for the Study of Pain.  
Cheryl is deeply inspired to integrate the wisdom of Yoga into the future of health care. She serves as adjunct faculty to the physical therapy program at Northern Arizona University, the School of Science and Engineering at Yavapai College and Prescott College YTT program and assists in local YTT 200 and 300 hour programs teaching the anatomy curriculum. Cheryl provides yoga classes at Lotus Bloom Yoga Studio and Yavapai Community College and provides integrative physical therapy, yoga therapy and Reiki services as a contract physical therapist. She established Vidya Yoga Retreats in 2017 as a venue for individuals to vision, create and experience well-being.
